Green Energy Transition Tool for SMSPs

What is the Green Energy Transition Tool?

Small and medium-sized ports across the Baltic Sea region are under increasing pressure to decarbonise — but many lack the resources, expertise, or clear roadmap to know where to begin. The Green Energy Transition Tool was created to change that.
Developed within the DigiTechPort2030 project, this free, practical methodology helps port authorities and managers navigate the green transition in a structured, realistic, and accessible way — regardless of their technical maturity or team size.

Who is it for?
The tool is designed for ports with limited resources and varying levels of technical experience — including port authorities and administrations, small and medium-sized seaports, and port managers, technical staff, and policy officers.

What does it help you achieve?
The tool supports ports in taking confident steps toward regulatory readiness under frameworks such as the EU Fit for 55 package, FuelEU Maritime, and IMO MARPOL Annex VI. It also helps reduce investment risks, improve access to funding opportunities, and build a structured, realistic approach to decision-making on green transition.

How to get started
Download the methodology below, work through it at your own pace, and take the first step toward your port’s green future. It’s free, it’s practical, and it was made with ports like yours in mind.

Haven’t tried it yet? You’re not alone — but you could be among the first ports in the region to take this step. Download it for free below and see where your green transition can begin.
