PROJECT DESCRIPTION

The overall project objective is to improve knowledge and capacities for decarbonization measures in small and medium-sized ports of the Sout Baltic Area by equipping them with two solutions until the end of 2026.


The project’s activities are planned as preparatory activities and exploitation of key green technologies for the Small and Medium-Sized Ports Ecosystem, such as reports and methodology. The partnership is also going to implement, test and evaluate two types of decarbonization pilots. Additionally, foreseen are activities related to the transfer of knowledge, expertise, and best practices as well as the exploration towards Green Technologies.


The project proposes to deliver two solutions (Green Energy Harmonization Toolbox for Small and Medium-Sized Ports and the EU Regulation and Green Policy Compliance Roadmap of Green Transition for Small and Medium-Sized Ports) to improve knowledge and capacity for decarbonization measures in the region.

Project time frame: 15 September 2023 – 14 September 2026

Project budget:  € 1 680 450, 00

MAIN TARGET GROUPS

The main target groups are port representatives, port authorities or municipalities, terminal owners, port logistics companies, maritime organizations and initiatives, port related projects in other programs, science and technology parks and universities, academia, energy technology companies, innovation clusters and hubs and the general public.

WHO’S INVOLVED?

The project involves eight partners from Germany, Lithuania, Sweden and Poland and a range of associated partners from the aforementioned countries. The project is led by Hochschule Wismar, University of Applied Sciences.
