On 26 June, during Poland’s Presidency of the Council of the European Union, the DigiTechPort2030 project was prominently featured at the Maritime University of Szczecin. The event brought together cohesion policy attachés from the European Commission, hosted by Poland’s Ministry of Funds and Regional Policy (Ministerstwo Funduszy i Polityki Regionalnej).
Dr. Stefan Jankowski, Head of the Department of Navigational Equipment at the Maritime University of Szczecin, presented the DigiTechPort2030 initiative—an ambitious project focused on decarbonising small and medium-sized ports across the South Baltic region. The initiative seeks to enhance environmental performance and energy management through smart, sustainable technologies and data-driven innovation.

The presentation formed part of a broader showcase of four EU-funded projects, each highlighting practical applications of cohesion policy in supporting sustainable growth and digital transformation. The event took place at the Centre for the Operation of Floating Objects (CEOP), where participants also visited advanced research laboratories and facilities that support the university’s maritime innovation agenda.
This occasion underscored the significance of collaborative research and policy alignment in achieving Europe’s climate and energy objectives within the maritime sector.

We extend our sincere appreciation to our partners at the Maritime University of Szczecin for their efforts in presenting and promoting the shared vision of the DigiTechPort2030 consortium.
