On 9 October 2026, Dr. Marcin Przywarty represented the DigiTechPort2030 project and the Maritime University of Technology in Szczecin at the Marine Innovation Conference 2026, held as part of Poland Boat Show at Ptak Warsaw Expo.
During the conference, Marcin delivered a presentation entitled “Decarbonisation of Small and Medium-Sized Ports”, introducing a topic central to DigiTechPort2030’s mission: supporting small and medium-sized ports in their transition towards more sustainable operations.
The conference, organised by the PUT Powertrain Scientific Circle of Poznań University of Technology, brought together perspectives on technological developments and innovation in the yacht industry and water transport.
Bringing port decarbonisation into the maritime innovation discussion
Small and medium-sized ports face specific challenges in reducing emissions and improving energy efficiency, including infrastructure requirements, investment needs and access to appropriate technologies. Addressing these challenges is essential to ensuring that smaller ports can participate in the wider green transition of the maritime sector.
Through DigiTechPort2030, partners work to strengthen the capacity of small and medium-sized ports in the South Baltic region to implement decarbonisation measures and digital solutions. Marcin’s presentation provided an opportunity to bring this project focus to a wider audience interested in marine innovation and the future of water transport.
Participation in the conference also highlighted the importance of connecting academic expertise, European cooperation projects and maritime industry stakeholders to exchange knowledge and advance practical solutions for greener ports.
