It shouldn’t come as a surprise that an initiative called DigiTechPort2030 recognizes the value of modern tech when approaching challenges! 🤖💪🧠
And decarbonisation is without a doubt one of the greatest challenges the maritime sector faces right now. Tackling it with tools offered by technological advancements – in this case artificial intelligence (AI) – was the focus of a workshop organized by the partners earlier this year.
Main goals of the meeting included:
📌 Exploring the current potential of small- and medium-sized ports (SMSPs) in context of AI solutions
📌 Expanding the knowledge surrounding the opportunities related to the green transition and emission reduction in SMSPs
📌 Discussing sustainable energy integration
📌 Networking and laying the foundations for future cooperation
The event also featured a presentation by one of the project partners – Euro Terminal Ltd. – showcasing the development plan for the terminal, with a strong focus on smart and innovative solutions.
The workshop was prepared as part of the annual Baltic Ports Conference, organized by one of the project’s associated partners – the Baltic Ports Organization – and held in Klaipeda, Lithuania, hosted this year by the Port of Klaipeda. 🇱🇹⚓
As the DigiTechPort2030 project enters the second half of its lifecycle, you can expect more events exploring the work conducted by the partners – keep an eye out for more updates in the coming weeks and months!
