The maritime industry is becoming more connected and more dependent on advanced technology. As maritime players are undergoing severe digital transformation, it now permeates everything from whole systems to individual devices. The availability of large amounts of data has changed the way vessels operate. Navigation systems, machinery, cargo, passengers and safety systems play an important role in optimising ship operations. Ports are expected to become more interconnected with ships in an attempt to optimise navigations and trade.
