Transforming ports in the Baltic Sea to green ports play a pivotal role in the challenges we face toward a more sustainable future and carbon reductions in Europe. Green ports are crucial to further promote sustainable blue growth in the light of the European Green Deal. If port authorities in the BSR and industry sectors join forces, they will become the frontrunners of this transormation. The Power4Ports project attempts to look at the impact and requirements of port electrification of small and medium sized port in the BSR. Differentiate and highlight the needs of different types of ports (Ro-Ro, Bulk, PAX etc.). This project has the ambition, if funded, to establish two main deliverables. 1. A prestudy aimed at looking at the prerequisits for electrification in ports in the Baltic Sea and 2. Prepare a larger application, based on findings in the prestudy, to apply for further funding from applicable funding sources.
